Perelyn in BARC Ranking: Growth in the Mid Segment

BARC – one of the leading market research institutes for business intelligence and analytics in German-speaking countries – has been tracking the development of the data and analytics services market for years. Their latest report makes one thing clear: 2024 was not an easy year. The long series of double-digit growth rates in Germany has been broken for the first time – D&A specialists grew at an average of 5.5 percent.

Structurally, however, the market continues to expand. The number of D&A companies has grown despite the weaker environment – BARC now counts 130 specialists with fewer than ten employees alone. Competition is becoming broader and more differentiated.

Against this backdrop, the mid segment stands out. It is the only one to have continued growing at double-digit rates. According to BARC, Perelyn is among the companies that stood out in particular – alongside AI specialist niologic and SAP specialist cobicon.

What does this mean for us? Growth is not the only meaningful measure for a consulting firm. But it is an indicator that the topics we focus on – AI strategy, data-driven decision-making, applied research – are increasingly recognised as relevant by companies. That this recognition emerges in a market environment that was difficult for many providers is, for us, a confirmation. And a reason to keep going.
